More than 21,000 pounds of trash removed from area roads and waterways
Please join Keep the Midlands Beautiful in thanking the 775 volunteers who participated in the 2008 Midlands Makeover between March 1 and May 1. Volunteers from Lexington and Richland Counties contributed 2,275 hours of service, removed an estimated 21,100 pounds of litter from area roads and waterways, beautified public spaces, and painted over graffiti. KMB joins City of Columbia Green Business Program

Keep the Midlands Beautiful was named a member of the City of Columbia's Green Business Program at the April 16 City Council meeting. KMB set goals to switch out incandescent light bulbs with CFLs, to replace paper mailings with e-mail communications, and to remove KMB's name from mailing lists to reduce the amount of junk mail we receive.
